Physical therapy contracting

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) has contracted with SecureCare (SCC) to manage its physical therapy network effective January 1, 2019. Blue Cross will no longer hold direct contracts with physical therapists. SecureCare will manage these areas: provider contracting, credentialing, provider relations and education. If you would like to become an in-network provider for Blue Cross members, you’ll need to contract through SecureCare.

Contracting process for SecureCare

Process:

  1. Visit SecureCare website
  2. Select 'enroll now' from the menu
  3. Complete the registration form and click 'submit'

What to expect:

  • After you submit your registration form, you’ll receive an automated email response letting you know it was received.
  • Your request to join will be reviewed. Please allow 30-60 days for the review process.
  • Once your request is reviewed, you’ll receive additional information and instructions via the email address you provided. (Note: The information is sent only by email, so be sure to check not only your email but also your junk / spam mailbox.)

Please note: The Physical Therapy Network is a closed network. All contract requests submitted to SecureCare are reviewed for access needs. The application for a contract and the automated response are not a guarantee of a contract.

When SecureCare completes the credentialing/contracting process, you’ll be given a login and password so you can access this information:

  • SCC provider manual
  • SCC provider add / change / termination forms
  • Blue Cross provider bulletins
  • SCC provider report card
  • SCC ePay login
  • SCC messenger model to view fee schedule(s) and make election(s)
  • SCC Minnesota credentialing eligibility criteria and provider rights
