The BlueCard® program links participating healthcare providers and independent Blue Cross plans through a single electronic network for claims processing and reimbursement. This link simplifies the process for out-of-state Blue Cross members.
As the provider, you have three responsibilities when participating in the BlueCard program:
- Examine the insurance ID card
- Verify eligibility and benefits
- Submit BlueCard claims electronically to the local Blue Cross plan
