Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has a variety of plans to choose from to meet your health needs, household budget and personal preferences. All plans cover preventive dental care, including exams and cleanings, at 100 percent when you see a dentist in the network.

Dental plan benefits:

  • In-network access to dentists throughout Minnesota
  • In-network coverage that includes more than 94,000 participating dentists and 336,000 offices nationwide
  • Discounts: Dentists who provide discounts for non-covered services have a "$ave!" symbol next to their name
  • Compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
  • Jr. Dental: 100 % coverage for dependent children 12 and under with no deductible or annual plan maximum on all covered services. Orthodontic care is excluded. Standard plan limitations apply. Out-of-network services may be subject to balance billing.
  • Fluoride treatment covered up to age 19

About enrolling

You can enroll in a dental plan any time. It’s quick and easy. Coverage generally starts the first of the month after we receive your application and payment.

You don't need to have Blue Cross health insurance to enroll in one of the Blue Cross Dental plans. Dental plans can be purchased by anyone age 18 or over.
