American Rescue Plan Act information

The American Rescue Plan Act may help you get more savings and lower costs on your health insurance.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (also known as the COVID-19 Stimulus Package) expands benefits available to Minnesotans through MNsure.

It includes an increase in the amount of tax credits that MNsure enrollees get to help pay premiums. It also includes expanded tax credits to middle-income Minnesotans who previously fell outside income limits for financial help. The increase in benefits means Minnesotans who get health insurance through MNsure can find a plan with premiums that cost no more than 8.5% of your household income.

In 2022, these enhancements were extended for three years in the federal Inflation Reduction Act.
