Welcome to your new Blue Cross Dental plan. Our goal is to help you activate your plan so you can get the most out of your benefits. To help you get started, let’s walk through five steps.
1. Create an online member account
To see your dental plan information, including your coverage and claims, take a moment to register for an account. There you’ll find information about your dental plan. The site is secure, personalized and easy to use.
Get relevant and up-to-date information about your plan:
- See recent claims
- Check who is covered, as well as deductibles, coinsurance, plan maximums and waiting periods, if any
- Find a dentist in your network (Note: If you use out-of-network providers, you may have to pay more)
- Get a copy of your dental member ID card
- Learn helpful tips about oral health
2. Keep your Blue Cross Dental plan ID card with you
You'll receive your dental plan member ID card in the mail promptly after your enrollment is confirmed. Be sure to bring it when you visit your dentist. It includes important information about your benefits:
- Your name and identification number
- Type of dental plan
- Instructions to help dental providers submit claims
- Customer service numbers for you and for dental providers
3. Review what’s covered in your Blue Cross Dental plan
Your coverage varies depending on the plan you selected. Log in to your online member account to see coverage details and learn about:
- Deductibles and coinsurance in your dental plan
- Plan maximums in your dental plan
- Differences in what you’ll pay out of pocket if you use an in-network vs. an out-of-network dental provider (you may have to pay more if you go out of network)
- Examples of dental services that are not covered, such as cosmetic procedures
4. Find a dentist
As a Blue Cross Dental plan member, you have access to the national United Concordia Advantage Plus 2.0 network, one of the nation’s largest dental networks. You can see any dentist, but you’ll save money if you choose an in-network dentist.
Don't see your dentist listed? You can nominate a dentist to join the network.
5. Contact us for more information
If you have questions, contact customer service at the number on the back of your member ID card.
