Identity protection

We offer identity protection services free of charge to current eligible Blue Cross members and their covered dependents enrolled in a Blue Cross health plan.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota partners with Experian to provide identity protection services to members and their covered dependents. Past members who’ve been affected by a breach are eligible, too. Experian has tools and assistance to help people check and understand their credit reports and scores. They also offer protection against identity theft. These services are available for as long as your health coverage is active.

What do the services include?

Services include:

  • Credit reports and monitoring – Watch for activity that may affect credit
  • Identity repair -- Help to address fraud
  • Identity theft insurance -- Repays stolen funds
  • Internet watch -- Find trading or selling of your minor's personal information

Renew every 12 months: You’ll need to renew your service every 12 months. You’ll get an email from Experian when it’s time to renew.
