The tides are changing and by the year 2030 millennials will make up 75 percent of the workforce in the United States.1 This shift will cause a disruption in how companies are run and what benefits they offer to attract and retain top talent.

One in four millennials value vision coverage most

Past generations, like the baby boomers and Gen Xers, have valued high salaries and retirement plans. For millennials, however, it’s all about flexibility and benefit choices. And if they aren’t getting what they want, they aren’t afraid to look elsewhere. According to Versant Health, one in four millennials say that vision coverage is the most appealing element of their benefit package.2

Vision plans are a top selling point for this tech-savvy generation in part because young workers today are likely facing more vision problems compared to their counterparts 40 years ago.3 Keeping their eyes healthy (without breaking the bank) will be a top priority for this generation.
