Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Supports Relief Efforts for Communities Affected by Hurricane Harvey

Eagan, Minn. (August 30, 2017) – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) today announced a $25,000 donation to support the Texas and Gulf Coast communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. The donation will be distributed to the American Red Cross to aid the area’s recovery and relief efforts.

“The devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey continue to worsen as floodwaters rise, forcing thousands of people to seek refuge in shelters,” said Michael Guyette, president and chief executive officer at Blue Cross. “We, along with other Blue plans, are committed to helping the growing number of communities affected by this catastrophic flooding.”

Personal donations in any amount can be made to the American Red Cross by visiting redcross.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS. You can also text the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
