Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Congratulates Jay Matushak, 2017 CFO of the Year award honoree
Eagan, Minn. (September 29, 2017) — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (Blue Cross) is pleased to announce that Jay Matushak, senior vice president and chief financial officer, has been named a 2017 CFO of the Year award honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The 11th annual awards honor top-tier financial executives who were selected by a panel of their peers for making significant contributions to their company and the community. The honorees will be recognized in a November edition of the Business Journal and at an awards luncheon on November 9.

His strategic vision has helped guide Blue Cross through a period of uncertainty to a more stable, financial environment,” said Michael Guyette, president and chief executive officer at Blue Cross. “Jay’s experience, collaborative leadership style and ability to drive results makes this a well-deserved accolade.”
Prior to joining Blue Cross in 2015, Matushak spent 14 years in financial leadership positions for UnitedHealth Group, including vice president of finance for Medicare and retirement, and chief financial officer of national accounts and commercial operations. Matushak started his career as an auditor with the Arthur Andersen accounting firm.
Matushak passed the certified public accounting exam and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame, where he also played on the Fighting Irish hockey team.
